VLCD 35- Experiment 2!

Alright, so.. Yesterday was done differently but I still experimented. I really wanted to see if popcorn was what made me lose less.

Breakfast-

Just had drops, was still pretty icky feeling so laid down.

Lunch-

Drops, Chicken breast chopped up and cooked then sauteed with onion. I added some tomato sauce I seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, stevia, italian herbs, onion salt and simmered for a while.. Creating a yummy chicken-marinara-stew. πŸ™‚ Was exactly what I needed for how I was feeling.

Dinner-

Drops, 1 can of Albacore mixed with 1 tablespoon of fat free yogurt (justified this with the fact I didn’t drink my milk, and never actually really drink it :/) Mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, onion salt, ground mustard seed mustard.. Put this on a salad of spinach leaves. It wasn’t bad, but far too much mustard for my taste.

For a snack, I experimented again… I shared a bag of popcorn with my husband and then had an apple and a Diet Coke.

Before I went to sleep, I weighed… just to test the waters and was already .2 below what I was yesterday morning. Usually, I’m about 2 lbs over what I end up at in the morning so was hoping that was the case. πŸ™‚

Being Sunday… And having been up late *again!* I slept in until late and didn’t weigh until 3-4 hours after when I normally do… With a 2.6 loss. I have no idea if it’s because I weighed so much later then I normally do, but hoping the scales reflect that loss plus more in the morning. πŸ™‚ Popcorn is definitely not on Protocol.. And really not even Rogue. So I guess I’m a .. Rogue rogue? We’ll just see how well my loss is tomorrow.

p.s…. Just one lil annoyance of losing weight… My glasses don’t stay well on my nose anymore!! πŸ™‚ They keep slipping down in which I’m forced to push them back up like Velma.. I’ll take it tho!

VLCD Day 2- Cocoa Crack

Well! Yesterday went very well… I tried a few different things and my body seemed to react nicely to it. πŸ™‚

Morning-

Drops, Green Tea with Stevia

Lunch-

Doubled my protein here, Chicken & Broccoli stir-fry with bragg’s liquid aminos, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, seasalt, a tiny bit of onion salt, black pepper.

Dinner-

3.5 oz of shrimp chopped up super fine and cooked with lotsa onions (Note: i discovered I can indeed go overkill on onion, whereas I didn’t think I could before! I actually took onion out when trying to eat it) seasoned with lemon juice, seasalt, onion salt, black pepper, Italian seasonings. Sauteed with fresh baby spinach leaves.

Most definitely not my favorite meal.. :/ Wont do again.

I added a bit of stevia to my allotted strawberries for the day and baked in the oven.

Evening Snack-

Diet Coke & Cocoa Crack (think it’s time to post a recipe on this!)

Cocoa Crack-

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (unsweetened)- I just added it until it had the right flavor

Truvia- I wish I’d measured the amount I used, but I really just kept adding till it tasted right. I’ve tried Cocoa-crack with stevia with various different methods, and truvia tasted SO much better.

Chili Powder- Add just a sprinkle

Cinnamon- Just a sprinkle, unless you like the taste of cinnamon. I don’t really, so didn’t want it to be overpowering.

My awesome husband came up with the idea to use chili powder in the cocoa crack… Probably from our days of playing Chocolatier several years back.. πŸ™‚ But it was an excellent idea! Last night, it felt like I was actually indulging. πŸ™‚

I also hopped on the exercise-bike and burned about 20 calories… (I know.. not much, but it was actually my first time on there in ages.. so I figured I’d give it a try and see if it made me gain.) After excercising, I curled up on the futon with my husband and watched DS9 for a bit before my daughter woke up crying and coughing.. (her cold’s progressed into the miserable, staying up all night phase.) I set her up on the couchΒ  with some cartoons, warm water with lemon juice and honey, her leapster explorer and favorite lala loopsy dolls (spelled wrong?) hoping she’d fall asleep.. She ended up staying up all night, in a good mood… but you could tell, pretty miserable. I fell asleep around 3am.. And she was still awake. Thankfully, we have a den connected with our bedroom so was able to move her into there so I could hear her, just in case she needed me.

Anyways… I woke up this morning with a 2.6 weight loss! Yay. πŸ™‚ I’m planning on trying to recreate the day a bit, though thinking I probably wont go too overkill on the coconut oil since I just found out that it’s NOT on P2 afterall.. :/ I’ve been losing pretty good on it, so I’m not really wanting to get rid of it yet.. And it makes my diet seem so easy, what with being able to have some form of chocolate in the evenings while watching DS9.. (on episode 57!)

Time to pull out the George Foreman grille. πŸ™‚ Been ages since I’ve used it.

happy losing!!

VLCD Day 15- Yay! A break in the clouds.

So, Yesterday I shook things up a bit with a few changes. πŸ™‚ And happily woke up to a .6 loss.. Dropping down to my Pre-Cheat weight on Sunday.

Started out with:

Morning-

Green Tea with Stevia

Lunch-

Albacore (i Doubled the protein for 5 oz.) on baby spinach leaves and onion. Mixed up some Horseradish Mustard with a bit of orange juice and a tiny bit of stevia to make a honey-mustard type dressing.I chopped up some of an orange and ate with my salad. Yum! Though, I’d love to know what kinda spinach leaves Subway uses.. Because there’s has this really good flavor to it.

I ended up eating the rest of my orange not long after since it was a late lunch. πŸ™‚

Dinner-

I went ahead and had a scrambled egg mixed with onion and an itty bitty bit of bell pepper. πŸ™‚ Seasoned it with seasalt & black pepper.

Afterwards, I made some of these macaroons I found from the forums. πŸ™‚ I can’t remember who posted it, but would write the name if i remembered!!

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β

Almond Macaroons

4 egg whites
8 tsp. powdered skim milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. liquid artificial sweetener
Cinnamon to taste

Beat egg white until stiff. Add skim milk powder. Mix well. Add extracts and sugar substitute. Drop cookies by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and dust with cinnamon.

Makes about 2 dozen.

This recipe works out to about 204 calories for the whole thing.
For 2 dozen cookies, it is about 8.5 calories per cookie, .03g fat, .83g carb and 1.04g protein.
For 36 really small ones, it is about 5.7 calories per cookie, .019g fat, .55g carb and .69g protein.

I actually ended up using rum extract instead of almond which wasn’t the best idea.. Since I realized later that rum extract has corn syrup in it. *owie* Also, I sprinkled the unsweetened cocoa mixture with stevia over the top instead of cinnamon. πŸ™‚

And, I accidentally mixed everything together initially instead of just whipping the egg whites first then adding everything. It took quite a while to get it stiff enough to drop onto the cookie sheet, but finally did and I have to say… It’s not too shabby! For a diet cookie that’s only 8.5 calories that is. πŸ™‚ Since I hadn’t eaten all my protein, I ended up having 5 of them I think. Or maybe 6. And saved the rest for my kids for snacks. (my son had one today and said ‘i like it!’, which was a lil surprising since it’s not the typical cookie. πŸ™‚ )

I think next time, I’d like to make some kind of strawberry sauce to drizzle liberally over the top. I really think it would make a big difference. Be something kinda like a strawberry shortcake. πŸ™‚ HCG-Style.

After my cookies, I remembered I didn’t eat my veggies *wrinkled nose* so quickly got some raw broccoli and spritzed some ranch from my handy-dandy spritzer over the top. I also put a bit of horseradish mustard to dip them in. Next time, I’ll have to figure something out. For some reason, eating raw broccoli isn’t as good as it used to be. :/

It was too late to have a fruit by then, so I skipped it for the night and went to bed late.. again.

I know I’m going to get this going to bed at a decent time down someday. :/ Hopefully soon!

So that was my day! With a loss of .6.

VLCD Day 12 & 13- Double Whammy

Saturday turned out relatively on schedule since my husband had to work. Both the kids were home and we just kinda relaxed. πŸ™‚

Around mid-morning, I started getting nauseous again and with the thought of fish (my only available meat.. We were going grocery shopping that night) I decided I’d probably skip my lunch before I’d choke it down again. However, after a lot of kicking around and glaring at that dreaded thawed-out-tilapia-fillet (note to those of you who are doing HCG…. Don’t eat it EVERY day, even if you love it. You’ll get burnt out, and FAST.) I finally remembered that someone had mentioned we could substitute 1 whole egg and 3 egg whites for a meat. SO… PouringΒ  a lil water in a cast-iron-skillet, I fried an egg sunnyside up. πŸ™‚ Man, that was pretty darn good.. Even though it didn’t quite have that perfect crisp that eggs have when fried. I ended up scrambling the remaining 3 egg whites… And I think I’ll figure something else out for that next time.. :/ i didn’t really like it.

After eating the eggs, I realized.. I felt amazing! It had been several days since I’d felt that good and so was super excited, but couldn’t figure out what it was that was causing me to feel better. However, despite how great I felt.. Around midday, I got a sudden wave of nausea and exhaustion… So went to curl up on the couch for just a lil bit… Then fell asleep. I woke up to my husband coming home, where I managed to stay awake long enough to explain that I was pretty exhausted and nauseous.

My husband, being the amazing man he is, offered to fix me something to eat if I went and laid down in bed for a lil while.. Which I easily gave in on. πŸ™‚ After falling asleep, I woke up sometime later to him telling me my dinner was done. I felt a lil better by that time and ate some chicken that he’d pureed brocolli and stuffed inside it. It was actually pretty good, and had I been feeling better.. I would’ve taken a picture! He’s actually really good at cooking.

I lost 1lb that day.

Later that night, I had strawberries and mixed together some unsweetened cocoa powder with stevia and dipped my strawberries in.. Which was delish! πŸ™‚ I loved it.

The next day was Sunday – Day 13.. I woke up, had my green tea as usual and went to church. πŸ™‚ After church, we rushed around to get out the door to go grocery shopping and .. on our way out, stopped by KFC to see if we could get some grilled chicken breasts for my lunch.. After waiting a little while we were told they wouldn’t do 3 grilled chicken breasts but could do 3 crispy chicken breasts! So…. Not wanting neither crispy or to have to pay for a ton of chicken, I opted for checking out McDonalds. We got the kids a burrito each from Taco Bell (which shares the same building as KFC) and then drove over to MikkyDees… All they had were their grilled chicken salads (other then grilled chicken sandwiches, etc.) and, picky as I am, I opted out of that also. I’ve never really liked their salads as their salad chicken tastes bland and fatty to me and their lettuce just doesn’t do it.

SO, by this time.. I have to admit, I was getting mighty grumpy.. Before I remembered Subway does salads. I ordered a grilled chicken spinach salad with onions and ended up cheating some by using some dressing. The salad was aaaamaaaazing! I Loved it. I ate some apple chips from a lil bag they sell at Subway that were really yummy also and we headed on down to the city to shop.

We stopped by a health store and managed to find Bragg Liquid Aminos… Along with liquid stevia for $15 a small bottle *Yikes!*. I passed on the stevia and grabbed the aminos since I love chinese and it’s sposed to taste like soy sauce.

After a very long shopping session in Walmart, (for groceries) we decided to stop for dinner (entirely WAY too late at about 8pm) We ran over to Jack in the Box and I grabbed some grilled chicken tenders & cheated again on an egg roll. I kinda had already accepted that I’d pay for my cheating but after being nauseous for so long constantly, I decided it was worth it. πŸ™‚

That night, after playing ‘toss the groceries’ with my husband.. which consisted of me pulling them out of the grocery bags (which btw, the bagger made sure to supply us with plenty of) and tossing them to my husband where he put them away.. We climbed in bed to relax.. I was abnormally hyper feeling.. Wonder if that’s a side effect of eating something with sugar in it after not having any for so long?

I woke up to a .2 gain this morning… But still don’t really regret my choice yesterday. Yeah, I cheated.. But I didn’t really cheat that bad. I feel like I’m all ready to get back in gear and bust some lbs again with protocol food!

Wellp! Back to the life of me.. Have a happy Monday everyone!
